After retiring from 14 years of being a restaurant owner, Gerri became Olivet’s Administrative Assistant in April of 2015. She was born and raised in a large Italian family on Long Island, NY. Her family spent many hours around the dining room table talking, laughing, and eating. When she opened an Italian restaurant, she used her God-given gift of hospitality to warmly welcome all who came through the doors in a way that made guests feel like they were coming into her home. Add to that authentic Italian food, and voila!
Her experience as a restauranteur, as well as working for a Chicago newspaper in its advertising display department, readied her for this position at Olivet where she uses her gift of hospitality every day. She enjoys supporting the pastor and handling Olivet’s administrative needs.
Gerri's faith journey began when she was in her 20s and first heard about being “born again” and having a personal relationship with Jesus. She feels blessed to be a member of Olivet’s loving family of believers and to be working in a Godly environment. She sings in the Choir and plays the dulcimer in the Strummers. The beach calls to her soul and she enjoys traveling to new places. When you come to Olivet, you’ll be greeted with love and joy!
